Established April 1, 2005

This website is a venue for consumers to speak with one voice as a force impossible to ignore.  We accomplish this by:

  • providing a vehicle for consumers to share their experiences and complaints;
  • assisting consumers in solving their problems with their GE brand appliances;
  • organizing evidence to engage the media and elected public officials in our campaign for truthful, respectful, and legal treatment from corporations.

Who We Are

We began as a group of homeowners in Southwest Florida who were angry and frustrated by the treatment we were receiving from the formerly admired General Electric Company.  As individuals, we had sought reasonable solutions from this American icon who for more than 25 years promised, "We bring good things to life".  They have brought anything but good things to our lives.

Struggling with this corporate behemoth as individuals, our efforts to find "reasonable solutions" were fruitless.  But as luck would have it, we learned there were thousands of us in Florida and more in other states.  As we discovered each other, we began to form networks of learning.  First street by street, then entire communities.

Our efforts were given a huge boost when Kathryn Simmons, Investigative Reporter for WBBH-TV/NBC-2 in Fort Myers, FL broadcast a segment about appliance problems at Island Walk in Naples, FL.  Responding to the hundreds of inquiries resulting from that segment became a fulltime job.

On April 29, 2005 Mr. William F. Turner of Naples, FL filed suit "on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated" against General Electric.  That day redefined our goals and the path we would pursue for the next year.
